Respectfully, more and more I don’t see the distinction. When the political climate is clearly anti-Christian, politics and religion can’t be separated. When I consider the political systems of the world, especially in Islamic countries, they’re a consequence of their values, their values derive from their religion.

It wouldn’t surprise me if D’s start declaring themselves specifically NOT Christian.

Hi, Dan. Thanks for all the great art you post for our enjoyment. I know that I forget to thank you sometimes, as I’m sure others do. Just know that you and your labor are appreciated, and that your post is anxiously awaited each day by some (ahem).

Today’s post made it quite easy to pick a favorite. Thankfully.

Favorite is: 4, 6, 8, 23, 26, 31, 36 and 40. I pared down my list quite a bit, by the way! The facial expressions in 6, 8, 36 and 40, capture the moment really well.

We are so thankful for God’s salvation, great love, and mercy that we sometimes forget His righteous anger will one day come upon the world. Those we see now who love to abuse, destroy, steal, etc., will one day see the side of Him that we often neglect to remember.

We have not encountered many Biblical paintings by Joseph Mallard William Turner, #15. He is called the Painter of the Light, his works always have an otherworldly quality. For Turner, catching a sunset on canvas was like opening one’s eyes to the Divine.

Long-suffering—patience—is a fruit of the Spirit and basic to God’s character. How patient He has been since Noah! He gives us plenty of rope with which to hang ourselves, so that finally we will realize how much we need a reprieve, and a Repriever.
